How to get HDMI with sound output on an EINSTEIN TC-01 and replace your VRAM - recently I purchased a pico9918 with VGA output for an MTX machine which when it arrived simply plugged into the VDP socket and gave me perfect VGA output. I then checked to see if the board supported the Einsteins VDP and it does!
Therefore it is possible to replace the Einsteins VDP and via the use of the HDMI version of the PICO9918 to get full HDMI straight out of the einstein, the board comes with a sound connection and if you wire the sound cables from the speaker to the board you should find you have full sound output on your Modern Monitor or TV.
As if this isnt enough the board has onboard memory so theres no need to use the Einstein's VRam at all (no more 4116 chip issues
I currently have two HDMI boards on order to do exactly the above - as soon. as they arrive I will set it up, test it and post the results on here. That said I expect there to be no problems at all, this board is truly amazing.
For those with other machines - this board auto detects the TMS VDP used by the machine and then provides perfect emulation.
