Screen output problem

Post by Paulwilco »

Hi everyone,

I have recently acquired an Einstein TC-01 and im getting it ready to display in a Museum i volunteer at. It all seems to be working except the picture is falling off the left hand side of the screen (the R and E of the ready on the MOS prompt cant be seen). I have tested it with several CRT televisions using a scart cable (with the extra connector to provide power). The jumpers on the board appear to be set correctly.

Unfortunately i've reached the end of my knowledge! Any advice would be gratefully received.

Thanks,

Paul.

Have you tried RF? The picture on mine was not too bad at all with RF.

Great idea Lardo, didn't think of that!

I'll give it a try. Would be nice to know what's causing the composite output issue though.

Well it's been a while but I finally got round to testing the output on rf. It's a bit better but still falling off the left hand edge of the screen

There's is something going on. Has anyone else experienced this by any chance?

Thanks,

Paul

Yes I’ve seen this problem, it’s due to the CRT TV over scanning the picture - I had this when using a TV with the Einstein before I got hold of a monitor. I had to get into the tv and manually adjust the picture using the pots inside.

Other options are use an LCD TV that will either just be ok or have an option to stop it over scanning. Or find an RGB monitor that will hopefully have better controls.

Thanks for that, I'll try some other tvs. Glad it isn't a problem with the computer itself!
